Francesco Vullo

31 Jul 2017

Francesco Vullo was born in Palermo, Sicily. Since he was a child he had an interest in creative activities, in particular drawing.

After high school, he attended the European Institute of Design (IED) in Milan, from which he graduated in illustration and animation in July 2016. His work has been published on several online magazines and blogs, proving a great success especially in social networks.

In April 2016 he participated in the Tribeca Film Festival in New York with a work he created for the movie premiere of 'The Bomb' by Smriti Keshari & Eric Schlosser. Francesco talks about his work and where his inspiration comes from: “My work is strongly influenced by events and contemporary culture and has many ironic nuances and messages of social criticism. All my works reveal an irreverent vision of the world and society. Some pictures try to communicate emotions, stimulate a reflection on part of the public; others, on the other hand, are born from an original combination of contrasting elements coming from different worlds and are characterized by vivid colours. In my creations, you can find remakes of famous paintings, surreal representations and ironic objects in common use, illustrations that reveal the dark side of social networks.”
